1- Legal Ceremonies


Documentation required for each participant in a Civil Marriage Ceremony in Mexico:

1.- Valid original passports and photocopies of bride and groom
2.- Tourist Card this is provided to all passengers on the plane prior to arrival into Cancun’s International Airport. The name on the Tourist Card and Passport MUST be the same
3.- Health Certificate Mexican laws require a Health Certificate for all Legal Wedding Ceremonies. Blood tests are done to determine blood type, HIV and STD status. Tests must be taken at the resort. These tests have to be done in Mexico.
4.- In the case of divorce, you must present the final divorce certificate.
5.- Witnesses, Legal Wedding Ceremonies require four witnesses. If the wedding couple provides their own witnesses the following is needed: 2 for the groom and 2 for the bride.
• A Civil Ceremony Form filled out indicating witnesses name, age, nationality, home address and occupation.
• Valid passport
• Witnesses must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the ceremony.

If you would like your parents’ names on the marriage certificate, certified copies of your birth certificates must be send as well the translation of them; otherwise the parent’s names will be omitted on the marraiage certificate.

• Providing  the requirements for the civil  Marriage (paperwork, government forms). 
• Filling out the application form according to the information provided by the couple.
• Submitting the wedding application form, blood test and medical certificates to the court.
• Booking the judge for the date and hour of your choice. 
• Scheduling the appointment with the lab to have tests done.
• Blood test and health certificate will be taken  at your resort. 
• Certified copy of the marriage certificate (when require it). 
• Provide your wedding witness if needed. 
• Apostille (translation and shipment not included).
